Description of our model and application areas
This congenic strain is frequently used in transplantation studies due to its distinctive pan leukocyte marker Ptprca, commonly known as CD45.1 or Ly5.1. This contrasts with other inbred strains such as C57BL or BALB/c that express the Ptprcb (CD45.2 or Ly5.2) allele.
The creation of this model involved speed backcrossing of the Ptprca and linked Pepcb alleles from SJL/JRj onto a C57BL/6NRj background.
