Description of our model and application areas
This strain, the F344, was selected by Curtis and Dunning in 1920 at the Columbia University Institute for Cancer Research. Then it was acquired by a breeder FISCHER then transmitted to Heston in 1949 and at the NIH in 1951.
The F344 rat does not present any deficient activity of the Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4), also known as adenosine deaminase complexing protein 2 or CD26, in contrary to other sublines.
